Day 4 Marathon & Rugby 7's

Well a nice lay in and 9.30am breakfast. The lovely weather has broken and there is plenty of rain during the day. Had a good catch up with John and James and some other guests over breakfasT.

We are so lucky that we are only 30 metres walk from the marathon so pop down in between the showers to see the men and woman pass and only a short walk from Ibrox the home of Rangers where we will head off to later to see the Finals of the Rugby 7's. Sadly the home nations are out already but have a booby prize final they may get inot. Should be a fab atmosphere!!!!  MORE LATER!!!!

The MORE LATER BIT!!!

Well we head round to Ibrox which is only a short walk from where we are staying. There is a real party atmosphere and to get in one stand you have to be dressed up which adds to the fun everyone is having. Every team plays extra games to determine each position so the games of 7 mins each way come thick and fast.

The crowd are kept going with a variety of kareoke classic songs with the words on the big screens and we are also encouraged to join in kiss cam, bongo cam and even highland fling cam.

The eagerly awaited Englad V Scotland game takes place to see who ends up going for 5th place. The banter is great and the noise amazing. England run out winners and then take on Wales who they beat in the final minute to claim 5th place.

So after the home nation crowd get over this excitement we are down to the nitty gritty and medal matches. The Aussies beat Samoa for the Bronze and then South Africa to everyones amazement beat New Zealand who had never lost a game at the Commonwealth Games to claim the Gold.

The only down side to the day was the venue running out of food and drin even water, the ever resourceful Miss O did manage to bag a couple of warm beers towards the end of the evening.

A great evening out and we make the short walk back to the B and B and catch up on the highlights.
