Welcome to our Olympic 2012 Blog and London Adventure

Tuesday 14th August

Well we are back home and what an adventure we have had. An amazing experience which I hope bought it to life for those of you who have taken the time to read all of most of the blog. We do plan to add as many photos as we can over the next couple of weeks and will add some other bits as we plan to keep this as our diary of a fabulous event we have been lucky enough to attend.

Many thanks to Sandra and Trudy for suggesting it.

Top moments have to be the super satruday 45 mins with Mo, Jess and Greg winning Gold, Tom Daley getting Bronze in the diving, the woman's pair getting the first GB Gold and Andy Murray in the semi at Wimbledon an event he then went on to win.

There were not many low points, the lost key on the first day at Wimbledon is the only one that sticks out.

Day 13 - August 9th - Snippets I have remembered

Here are a few things that I have thought of and haven't put on so far so here they are.

The cycling coaches apparently started joking with other teams that their wheels were more round than other teams which is why Team GB are doing so well.

On the way to the spa day trying to do my good deed for the day I help a famly with their buggy down the stairs at the tube station, miss the bottom step, trip and twist my ankle, Miss O has to help them the rest of the way.

Why oh why is there an Amercian commentating on the athletics, it just doesn't seem right.

Day 12 - August 8th -

Bit of an update. Many of you have asked how did we get so many tickets, well it was alot of luck initially in the ballot, this led to us deciding last year (about June 2011) that this would be our summ er holiday for this year. We booked our accomodation for 16 nights and then managed to add tickets from Italy which I have to say was much easier than getting them in the UK, we could have attained more but once you have so many you then have to be able to secure others that fit with what you have. Miss O then spent the first week of her school summer holidays basically refreshing the ticket site every few seconds and we got a couple more that way as well. We were very, very lucky,  don't think we will ever experience anything in our lives like the 3 gold medals in the Olympic stadium saturday night. Still emotional when anyone asks about it. We were also persisant, patient and resourceful in obtaining the others. We didnt have nay in high price bands, our tickets were all in the £20 - £65 price bracket. We didnt manage cycling or swimming but are having an amazing time. We are also going to two weekends of Paralympics which I see are now selling fast. If you haven't managed to get Olympic tickets and love sport or even if you don'd try the Paralympics. Attending something like this is a once in a lifetime and amazing experience.

There are more updates on Trudy's page and we have also added a page for Wenlock the mascot. Keep the comments coming on the guest page.

Day 10 - Today I met up with Ellen who I used to play hockey with in Manchester!  She is volunteering and has managed to do so at the velodrome!  She will be thinking of and texting us some top tips for you so far:-

Don't volunteer to take over from security for 1 hr while they have lunch - yes you get to meet people from the press - chris boardman, Chris Akabussi, Cavendish and Victoria Pendletom had a rest by her but she mainly spent 3 hrs on her own underneath all the action............

Being on the gates is good fun as you get to chat to people.  Make sure you get into the venue to see something... she got to see Kenny win Gold today!  Her picture is below!

Sorry fans for the slightly longer to take update, had hoped this would have been live last night but after the late night and theft of Miss O's purse and yesterday which was equally exhausting but exhilerating at the same time we have now updated the past couple of days, have added a few photos, will add more as and when we have some time, off to see some London sights and the Ice Bar, and keep up with events (slight change of plan today (2nd August due to Julie having a few blond moments - see todays page for more info). We have also started a page for Trudy who will be volunteering at the Paralympics and was instrumental in getting us to do this, so will update with more info as we gather it. GO TEAM GB!!!!!!

We are enjoying reading your comments so keep adding them!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by. check this page regularly for ad hoc bits and bobs, hope you are all enjoying the action wherever you are.

Welcome to our little website. We are now on our Olympic Adventure with a few other bits and pieces thrown in for good measure.

We have are having a few glitches loading photos so please note tjhey are added in batches of 6 or 7 so take the time to go though them all, we have added a few more of the Murrays at the tennis on saturday. We will add more if we find an easier way to do this and may well put them in the photo section.

PLEASE, PLEASE add your comments and check our schedule which is on one of the pages to ask us anything about events we are attending.

For example did you know that Andy Murray has much chunkier legs than his older brother Jamie and Mrs Obama was at the tennis on satruday as well.

Have a look around and get to know us.We hope to add some of our other trips on here as well but as we are busy packing our Union Jacks this may have to wait until our return.

We have been asked to give this ago by Trudy and Sandra so they had better read it and make some comments. Trudy attended the technical rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony and said it was amazing which is was, like the pics on facebook Trudy.

To give me an idea of who's been visiting me here, you can write in the guestbook.
